I am very perplexed over the malfunction of my low beam headlights. I am uncertain why my battery is impacted when the lights extinguish. The situation started when the low beam light on the passenger side failed. My partner replaced the halogen bulb with another halogen bulb, believing everything was functioning properly when the headlight was operational. I drove the vehicle all day doing errands, but by dusk, the light had ceased to function. A very anxious commute home necessitated the use of high lights for visibility on the roadway. My partner reassembled everything to inspect the bulb, believing it to be damaged. He found that the bulb had detached from its housing and was melting the housing component, although saw no indications of it affecting the wires. During my errands, I fortuitously discovered the bulbs priced to $2 each. I purchased four. Consequently, I requested that he replace the driver-side light as well, given that I had purchased four bulbs. They were synchronizing the lights in this manner. Everything functioned well until two days later when my vehicle failed to start. I thought the battery was depleted. We connected it to my charger, and it activated immediately. However, we saw that the lights were nonfunctional on both sides. We visited AutoZone to assess the battery and alternator, both of which were functioning well. We conducted a diagnostic on the vehicle, which revealed no problems or faults, suggesting that everything is functioning properly. I ultimately visited Walmart due to a promotion by Sylvania, offering free installation of headlights with purchase. Simple and effortless, or so I believed. Two days later, the battery failed to start the vehicle, and the passenger side light is nonfunctional once again. I returned it to Walmart. I never ascertained if the bulb was defective, but it was replaced, and I proceeded the following day to discover that both bulbs were nonfunctional and the battery was depleted. My partner has dismantled the bumper and all components necessary to access the lights. He inspected the wiring as thoroughly as possible to ensure there were no shorts or damaged wires. He discovered little rust on the battery terminal and effectively cleaned it. The bulbs seem functional, although they remain inoperative. My battery is an Interstate battery around one year old. Initially, we suspected a drain on the battery; but, with more consideration, it seems that the charge does not deplete gradually, as it either maintains a high charge or is entirely dead between starts. I am uncertain if the battery is a distinct issue or whether the battery and lights are interconnected. The fuses for the headlights remain enigmatic. The engine fuse box has a place for a fuse, yet it is devoid of any fuse. Inspected the other two fuse boxes, but no headlight fuses were located. I hope you can provide information that may assist in resolving the issue.
