50,000 miles and failed CVVT and camshaft
I own a 2018 Kia Sportage, which displayed a check engine light accompanied by an error number of P0010.
I brought it to the dealership, where they informed me that my CVVT has significantly deteriorated and that my engine would fail if I attempted to drive it home.
They provided me with a quotation:
Camshaft intake, electronic continuously variable valve timing, and timing chain kit
Components: $2,400 Labor: $1,600
Total: 4,600 CAD, including components, labor, and taxes
I am uncertain how this could occur, since I drive cautiously and always adhere to maintenance protocols.
Furthermore, they said that my warranty lapsed in July, rendering all coverage void.
