2020 Kia Soul has automatic locking

My 2020 Kia Soul is parked in my driveway. It engages the locking mechanism automatically.

I sometimes open my vehicle from the porch when my arms are burdened with items. By the time I get to the vehicle, it will have automatically secured itself. I must unlock it once again. Extremely impractical.

How can I permanently disable this "feature"?

The one instance in which I have encountered the "auto lock" feature was when I pressed the unlock button on the remote but failed to open a door or hatch within around 30 seconds or a similarly brief interval.

The answer is to leave the device unlocked or to open a door or hatch within 30 seconds or another brief time frame after pressing the unlock button on the remote.

Refrain from securing it. Refrain from activating the unlock mechanism until you are prepared to open the door.

Securing all doors while the car remains unlocked will deactivate the auto-lock feature.

I believe this cannot be deactivated. It is not possible on my 2011 model, since it has a more rudimentary instrument cluster. If the option is not included in your menu options or referenced in the owner's handbook, it cannot be deactivated.

Once the fob is used to unlock, there is an approximate 30-second interval before it relocks. Execute your unlock within the specified 30 seconds.

My vehicle was equipped with an aftermarket theft deterrent system (Prestige/Voxx) including many functionalities. I have disabled the default settings and activated the alarm just for instances when the car is unlocked and a door is opened, triggering the alarm.

I would modify its locking and unlocking logic if possible.

However, it may resemble our previous Corolla. Depress the little mechanism on the upper edge of the door to secure it, then lift it to release the lock. There are four, one for each door, and no automation is present.

The windows exhibit similar reasoning. Rotate the crank to lower the window. Invert it to retract it. Lowering your windows is now an antiquated expression. Who needs electricity? :p

If the unlock button is pressed and no door is opened within 30 seconds, most vehicles automatically re-lock themselves. Their reasoning is that it constituted an inadvertent signal to open the door.
