I just had a malfunction with the handbrake on my 2008 Range Rover Sport.
The emergency release has to be activated. I had been operating the vehicle without a handbrake for some time.
I manually unjammed the mechanism today and re-latched the wires.
Regrettably, the red flashing "P" sign remains visible.
Both fuses are functional; they have been examined and replaced as a precaution.
Nonetheless, I am unable to see the motor attempting to operate. Are there any other tests or trials I may conduct?
iCarSoft displays a real-time force sensor readout, although the motor current registers as zero. I intended to provide 12 volts to the motor to ascertain if the windings were damaged, but lacked a convenient method to do so.
Do you have any suggestions? Salutations!
