Generation 2 R8 or 991.1 GT3

Seeking to acquire a Generation 2 R8 or a 991.1 GT3.Spent the weekend experiencing GT3s, which are quite astonishing. Legally compliant track vehicle.

Are there any current owners of these vehicles, or the GT3, who can elucidate the significant advantages and disadvantages of each option? The ride in the GT3 is somewhat 'firmer,' however it is not a cause for alarm. Aside from the documented engine failures

Whichever option I choose will be used as a daily driver, similar to my existing Gen 1 R8.

The 991.1 GT3 models have significant engine problems and are covered by a Porsche 10-year guarantee from the date of manufacturing. R8 consistently for its dependability.

Indeed, I believe this encapsulates everything well. Each time I consider purchasing a GT3, I am reminded of their meticulous nature while not on a track, and I have ultimately refrained from proceeding.

In my perspective, the Gen.2 R8 is a superior option compared to the 991.1 GT3.

According to @yellercat, there are significant problems with the 991.1 GT3 engines, to the extent that three distinct types of "replacement" engines are available if the original fails. One would only want a G6 Motor 991.1 GT3, indicating that it has already undergone replacement. However, some owners shown impatience over their motor replacement, resulting in the cars being Lemon Lawed; hence, be vigilant for secret branded titles.

An R8 V10 or a Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR, both accompanied by a Fidelity extended warranty, would represent a far more prudent choice in terms of repair reliability.

I own a 991.2 GT3 and a Gen 1 R8 V10, however they are not identical. If you want a GT-type vehicle on the road, the R8 is superior. If you need a vehicle suitable for both road and track use, the GT3 is superior. I see the GT3 as more agile, since it appears smaller and more nimble. I believe the GT3's howl at 9,000 RPM is superior than the V10's sound at redline.
