Car Dies while Driving due to Stereo Short - Help Needed!

Hey folks, I hope someone here can help me out. I've had an issue recently where my car dies while I'm driving, and I think it's related to the stereo shorting out. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

@TysMagic , testing the alternator is straightforward. With the engine running, check the voltage across the battery terminals. It should be between 13.8V and 14.4V. If it's lower, your alternator might be failing. Also, listen for any unusual noises coming from the alternator while the engine is running .

@TysMagic , once you’ve checked the alternator, try isolating the issue by disconnecting the stereo altogether. If your car runs fine without the stereo, then you’ve found your culprit. That’s what happened in my case; simply removing the stereo stopped my car from dying on the road .
