What is the handling performance of these vehicles?

A few months back, I had a loaner with a 740 rating, which I saw as a substantial vehicle. Consequently, I did not devote much attention, since I did not anticipate being in the market for one a few months later.

Are the i7 versions superior than the 760 variants?

I awaited the release of the M5 specifications, but regrettably, it is not much more opulent than the G60. Furthermore, the I7 models do not differ substantially in price from the I5 M60 after discounts. Consequently, I believe the I7 60 will be my next vehicle.

I sought to get the Autobahn package; however, none of the available 24 models have it, and I am unwilling to wait five months for a custom order, especially with the superior discounts and rates for the 24 models.

It is a large, lightly suspended luxury car. It does not qualify as a sports vehicle by any standard. I believe the electric vehicle models exhibit superior ride quality and handling; the 760s I operated (having never driven a 740) were rather cumbersome and buoyant in comparison to the S580 I ultimately acquired. The i7, however, seemed more substantial; I believe the extra 1,000 pounds contributes to this perception.

However, it is not a 5 Series.

I exchanged my i5 M60 for an i7 60. It maneuvers very well for a large vehicle. It exudes confidence, security, stability, and safety.

The rear steering enhances its maneuverability, making it seem far more compact. The i7 is not as snug and stiff as the i5, but it offers a level of comfort akin to that of a Rolls-Royce.

On the few occasions I have navigated my i7 into winding gorges, it has left a strong impression on me. Do not anticipate the handling of the M3/M4 or M5 sedans, yet be ready to be astonished by the i7's performance in the canyon.

Are you aware whether the 740i has less suspension and handling components compared to the 760 or i7 models? I am attempting to ascertain why it seemed so nautical to me; maybe I was only used to operating my M8, which is fundamentally different in terms of suspension.

We too own an M8; I believe the batteries enhance the performance of the i7 significantly. I have not used a 740, but I find the 760 to be rather impressive.I have been using electric vehicles since around 2017 and do not want to go to fuel.

It maneuvers very well for a huge vehicle. Interestingly, when I operated the S580, I perceived it as buoyant and less adept at aggressive driving, contrary to your experience. My score is 760.

I have driven many 3 and 5 series models; they exhibit commendable handling and agility, although they do not possess the M or V8 variants. The agility made it somewhat more enjoyable to drive despite the less power.

This is, in my opinion, the superior handling vehicle within this size classification.

I own sport rims with an enhanced speed restriction, which may also contribute to performance. It may also depend on your settings.

My concern with the 760 was not its handling during aggressive driving, but rather the sensation at high speeds when driving routinely on the highway. The 760s I drove seemed disjointed and rather unsteady, reminiscent of my previous Lexus LSs, but the S580 has a more composed demeanor at 80 MPH on the highway.

During hard driving, I perceive that the S580 becomes much stiffer in Sport Plus mode compared to the 7 in its sport mode.

For what it's worth, I am comparing my outgoing A8 with the V8; yet, in sport mode, I see that the Audi exhibited superior handling and responsiveness. The 760i I own is competent, however in sport mode, the steering exhibits a degree of looseness. I want a somewhat tighter performance; yet, once entering a curve, it demonstrates commendable handling, and there is no noticeable body lean, unlike the Audi.

I did not drive the S580, but I have heard that in sport mode, it may seem far more compact than its real size. I believe the 760i ought to be comparable to that.

If you are considering the M5, I find it difficult to assess its comparisons. If a huge vehicle is unnecessary and you choose a sporty four-door option, I am uncertain how one might surpass the M5.

My 580 exhibits more firmness than my brother's 760 on sport mode. However, I find that both vehicles exhibit stability at high speeds and on canyon roads, considering their relative dimensions.

The term "floaty" is applicable to several vehicles I have operated, contingent upon the road conditions, tires, suspension, and ultimately, the driver.

A friend said that his GLS 63 failed to instill confidence during high-speed turning. However, we were fortunate to have a brief journey with a former German DTM driver, during which the identical vehicle cornered and handled in a manner we had never deemed conceivable.

The low center of gravity of the i7's batteries contributes to minimizing body roll; yet, its substantial weight becomes apparent while attempting to navigate corners at excessive speed. It really firms up in sport mode (unfortunately, it cannot be set as the default), but I often leave it in the usual setting for a smoother ride.

Having previously had an RS7, which was substantial but not as large, the i7 definitely seems more expansive while navigating curves.
